What Is a TRC20 Wallet Address?
A TRC20 wallet address is a unique alphanumeric string used to send, receive, and store tokens on the TRON blockchain. Every valid TRC20 address starts with a capital T and is exactly 34 characters long — for example: T7z5Tf9jj1k2a4VZqL4mKjD6CZ1ePZa1w6.
TRC20 is the token standard on the TRON network, equivalent to ERC20 on Ethereum. It powers popular tokens such as USDT (Tether), USDJ, and BTT. Because the TRON blockchain is designed for high throughput, TRC20 transactions are processed in under one minute with fees as low as $0.001–$0.01.
Every TRC20 address starts with "T". If an address starts with "0x", it belongs to the Ethereum (ERC20) network and cannot receive TRC20 tokens.
Key Characteristics of a TRC20 Address
- Starts with the letter T
- Exactly 34 alphanumeric characters
- Compatible with TRX, USDT-TRC20, BTT, and thousands of other TRON tokens
- Supported by TronLink, Trust Wallet, Ledger, Atomic Wallet, and all major exchanges
- Requires a small amount of TRX for transaction fees (energy/bandwidth)
When receiving USDT or any TRC20 token, always confirm the sender selects the TRON (TRC20) network. Sending funds to the wrong network can result in permanent loss, as blockchains are not cross-compatible.
